We need plants!

Do you have any plants that you'd like to donate to Year 3? Our learning this term is linked by the theme of Growth. We are looking for plants that they can take care of and help to grow well. If you've got any spare potted plants at home (any shape or size!) we'd love to have them in our classrooms or hallways.

Thursday's Writing Prompt

Each Thursday, all Year 3 children will be given time for independent creative writing based on a picture.

This weeks picture shows a monster and a boy holding a toothbrush!

Please support your child to brainstorm ideas for their writing. Support them to think about characters, settings, problems, solutions, beginnings, endings, and interesting vocabulary associated with the picture. Questions to spark discussion...

Where did this monster come from? What words can we use to describe the monster? How did he meet that boy? What do you think the boy will do with that toothbrush, and why? What is going to happen next?

The purpose of this task is to build creativity, writing stamina, independence and to have fun with writing. Be imaginative and creative! The more interesting your story is, the more others will enjoy hearing it.
