Mr. Frank's Class 6-4
Hello, my name is Francisco Suarez Cedeño. I am from Venezuela, located in South America. This is my 6th year teaching in primary and my 3rd one teaching in the Middle East. I am very excited to be in Doha for the first time and specially working at EMS. As a Year 6 teacher, I will give my best to make this school year productive, unique and unforgettable. IN THE CLASSROOM
Students are working on their Non-chronological reports about countries. Students will research about an assigned country in order to create their own Spidergrams, a writing piece and a Pop Up assignment/ presentation.
Students are working on a Non- Chronological report about an assigned country. This one should be organized in 6 different paragraphs with their subheadings and transition words.
This last unit for 2nd term is about Area & Perimeter. Students are using different measurement units and analyzing a variety of shapes to obtain the correct Length and Width. Math Circles are happening everyday, please check on their activities to practice at home.
In Science, our main focus has been Electricity during this term. We have learned about conductors and insulators, parts of circuit, parts of light bulb and the importance of these ones.
For Social Studies, this unit has been about the Three Muslim Empires: the Safavid, the Ottomans, and the Mughal. Students are learning the importance of world trade during the past.
INTERNATIONAL WEEK: Venezuela!
Students brought all the way from South America the stunning Amazon Forest with the incredible Angel Falls and the magnificent Catatumbo Lightning to our classroom. We had a blast learning Spanish, getting to know Venezuelan traditions and food and even chilling with our own exotic animals like parrots, cockatoos and turtles.
