Big Ideas

We are reading the novel 'Kensuke's Kingdom' as part of a Year 6 novel study. We are reading the story together as an ongoing project, learning more about characters, plot, and how to answer questions we are asked about what we are reading.

We are also taking writing opportunities from the novel. The most recent piece of writing we have done is writing to persuade the reader of our opinion. The key question students were asked was:

Should Michael and his family sail on the Peggy Sue?

Should Michael and his family NOT sail on the Peggy Sue?

This is what a letter, written to persuade, should look like. This would be a good example to use if you are practicing writing to persuade at home.
